Mission Weekend
November 15-16, 2025
Saturday, November 15
Cost of Poverty Experience
9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The Cost of Poverty Experience (C.O.P.E.) is a 2.5-hour immersive simulation that invites participants to experience the realities of poverty through the eyes of real families. Created with input from individuals who have lived in poverty, C.O.P.E. reveals both the human and systemic challenges that shape daily life for millions. This transformative experience helps communities move beyond well-intentioned, top-down solutions and instead cultivate empathy, dialogue, and partnership with those most affected. Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of poverty and renewed clarity on how to respond with wisdom and compassion. Open to adults 18+ and youth ages 12 and up when accompanied by an adult. Childcare is available and registration is required.
Sunday, November 16
Guest Speaker, Brian Fikkert
8:15, 9:30 & 11:00 a.m.
On Mission Sunday, we are honored to welcome Brian Fikkert, co-author of When Helping Hurts, as our guest preacher. Drawing from his years of experience in community development and faith-based economics, Brian will invite us to reflect on what it means to serve wisely and walk alongside others with humility and purpose. Together, we’ll explore how the church can move beyond charity toward true partnership—building relationships that restore dignity, foster hope, and reflect God’s kingdom of justice and grace.
