Small Groups
One of the primary ways we live out our mission to encourage one another to follow Jesus is through participation in small groups. These intentional communities within our congregation meet in homes or on campus to pray and grow together. Each group has a facilitator who creates a hospitable space where meaningful relationships form through dialogue, study, and prayer.
The Bible is an intimidating book. It’s thousands of years old, it’s full of different genres, it was written by many different people who lived in different places, it was composed, edited, and compiled over hundreds of years, there are hundreds of different contemporary translations available, and frankly, it’s very long. I find that even
the most basic of questions like “Where should I start reading?” can be challenging.
Here at Covenant we believe that regular engagement with Scripture is an essential piece of faith formation. We want to provide you with tools and guidance to help you engage fruitfully with God’s word, so we have created a year-long curriculum workbook that will take you through a number of significant scripture passages beginning in Genesis and ending in Revelation. It is our hope that this resource will help you engage Scripture with your minds as you learn more about lesser known parts of Scripture and discover connections between different parts of the Bible. We also hope that this resource helps you to engage Scripture with your heart as you slow down with God’s word and become attentive to the ways it challenges you and calls you into deeper faithfulness.
This resource is designed to be used in community, so we hope that you will use it in a small group, a Bible study, or with a friend. If you are not in a small group or are looking for a Bible study to be a part of, we would love to invite you to join one.
As we enter into this program year, let me leave you with a promise from Isaiah 55:11 “so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose and succeed in the thing for which I sent it.”

Join a Small Group
New small groups are forming which will begin meeting the week of August 31, and will meet weekly. These groups will be invited to participate in a year-long scripture study entitled God’s Unfolding Story, written and designed by our Covenant team. Curriculum and training will be provided. Leaders are needed to facilitate new groups.

Meet Kathryn!
Kathryn Sedberry, Director of Adult Discipleship, started at Covenant in 2016. She previously worked at Casner Christian Academy and for the United States Tennis Association. A Covenant member since 1996, Kathryn served as children’s choir director for several years. Kathryn enjoys the outdoors — walking, jogging or hiking with her family. She likes watching her two sons play music and participate in sporting events!
