Covenant has hired Alison “Ali” Bolsinger to serve as Director of Middle School Ministries. Ali, who will graduate from Gordon College in Wenham, Mass., at the end of May, has been on the staff of Young Life for four years; three years as a volunteer and the past year as a staff person.
Ali’s degree will be in Christian Ministries with a concentration in pastoral ministries. She has honed her skills by developing, planning and providing oversight to weekly Young Life club events and activities. She has managed college leaders and recruited new members. During summer 2018, Ali served as ministry intern at Purpose Church in Pomona, Calif., where she supported the executive pastor and interacted with senior staff members.
“Research has shown and my own experience has validated that a young person’s engagement and connection to the church during their formative years sets the path for their adult years,” Ali said. “I have come to see the importance of knowing the ones that you are serving and meeting them exactly where they are, just as Jesus has shown us to do. I have also learned how crucial it is to create a safe and open environment for students to know that they are known, accepted and loved as they are getting to know God.”
Senior Pastor Thomas Daniel said, “The search committee received many applications, interviewed the strongest candidates, and were unanimous that Ali was the person called to the position. We are delighted she feels led to Covenant.”
Ali will start her new job in June and is planning to be part of the middle school mission trip to Oklahoma City.
