Courageous Conversations: Navigating the 2024 Election Together
Wednesday, April 24 at 6:15 P.M. in FE200
In a time of significant division and anticipation, we invite you to an evening of “Courageous Conversations,” where we aim to bridge gaps and foster unity amidst diversity, especially in light of the upcoming election. As the body of Christ, we are called to engage in open, respectful dialogues that honor our diverse viewpoints while standing united in faith.
The 2024 election looms large, stirring a mix of emotions and concerns. A recent Reuters survey in January 2024 revealed that 67% of Americans are yearning for new leadership, expressing dissatisfaction with the recurrent candidates and the limitations of the two-party system; but the other third of us are fired up about their choice. The tension is palpable, with worries about potential unrest post-election touching every corner of our communities, including Texas, where officials are on high alert.
To preemptively address these challenges, Courageous Conversations aim to create a space where we can discuss our hopes, fears, and responsibilities for the election in an atmosphere of mutual respect and understanding. We’ll explore how our faith guides us in participating in civic duties and how we can remain cohesive as followers of Christ despite differing perspectives.
