Covenant offers separate programs for preschoolers and grade school students up to fourth grade. Our unique learning labs for the older elementary students provide an interactive, always-changing religious environment, while our single classroom atmosphere is more comforting for our preschool students. We offer kids a variety of programs on Sundays and Wednesdays, as well as choir, fellowship events, Vacation Bible School and mission opportunities. Check out our opportunities below. Vacation Bible School (VBS) 2017 will be June 12-16. Get ready for Maker Fun Factory: Created By God; Built for a Purpose.
Get ready for a week of faith, fun and friends. At Covenant’s Vacation Bible School kids are immersed in Bible stories through song, taste, smell, touch and sight. It’s a glorious week of fun activities that bring the Bible to life. The mission of our VBS is to provide a shared faith experience that parents and children will talk about all year long. To do this we ask each family to provide an adult volunteer for two (2) days of VBS. We also would love for you to show up at 11:45 and worship with us.
- Camp VBS, Ages 2-3
- Maker Fun Factory, 4 years old to Incoming 5th Grade
- Youth Volunteer, Incoming 6th Grade and up
9:30 a.m. Tot Spot (two months – two years)
Tot Spot is loving childcare for babies two months up to two years old. Our staff is trained in CPR and first aid. During this hour, we aim to provide what your child needs — whether that is a nap, an engaging play time, a Bible story or something else. Tot Spot is available Sundays at 9:30 a.m.
9:30 a.m.: Preschool Place (two years – pre-K)
Preschool Place is Sunday school for two-year-olds through pre-kindergarten. Our parents bring their kids to a classroom on the third floor of the Fellowship and Education Building at 9:30 a.m. on Sundays, where the children enjoy an hour of song, prayer, Bible story time and crafts. The curriculum is activity-oriented for our energetic little ones. Covenant kids have tons of fun while they start to love Sunday school!
9:30 a.m.: Zone K-4 (kindergarten – fourth grade)
Zone K-4, for kids in kindergarten through fourth grade, provides 10 different learning labs that immerse kids in the Bible. Our curriculum incorporates food, games, computers, science, art, music and storytelling. Children are divided into groups according to grade and gender and are led by “shepherds” (parent volunteers) to a different lab each week. The hands-on lessons reflect stories being studied throughout the year. We issue “Bible Bucks” to students for memorizing the point of the day and the scripture of the month, or who lead in prayer, etc. The bucks are redeemed at our “Inspiration Store” where kids purchase items that reinforce what we are teaching. Our hour concludes with a large gathering where we sing songs of worship and praise. It is truly an energizing and motivating hour for kids!
9:30 a.m.: Team 5 (fifth grade)
Team 5, our ministry for fifth graders, meets Sundays at 9:30 a.m. Team 5 starts the hour with fun games that introduce the Bible lesson for the day. Later in the hour, students engage in deeper discussions and prayer time. Team 5 parents and our fabulous Team 5 leader Barbara Burnett lead our activities on Sunday mornings.
6 p.m.: What a Wednesday (four years – fifth grade)
On Wednesday nights from 6–7:30, we invite children four years old through fifth grade for a time of very active games with a Biblical message. Midway through the evening, the kids are divided into age groups to explore the Bible through story time, crafts, snacks and Bible story videos.
Childcare (three years and younger)
You may reserve childcare for children three years and younger during Wednesday night activities by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org.
At Covenant, we offer five children’s choirs for ages four (4) years through sixth grade. Our children’s choirs give children a unique way to serve the church and enable them to experience worship through praise, prayer and Biblical stories. These choirs perform in worship and put on an annual show in May. In our choirs, Covenant kids receive a musical education and training for mind, body and spirit.

Through Joy Ministry, Covenant matches a volunteer “buddy” with a special needs child to make it possible for the child to attend and participate more fully in Sunday school.
The goal of Joy Ministry is to help all Covenant families to feel truly welcome on our campus. Many families with special needs children struggle to attend church as a family. Parents often go separate ways on Sunday morning. One may attend a service or class while the other provides adequate care for their child. Without additional assistance in the Sunday school setting, our special needs children are missing out on the chance to learn about God’s love, make lasting friendships and be part of the church community.
Do you have a special need in your family that this ministry might touch? Please let us know. Contact: Cindy Young at firstname.lastname@example.org or (512) 809-9786.
