Monday, April 29 - Wednesday, March 31
12 p.m. on Zoom

The gospel accounts offer different perspectives and timelines of the events that took place between Monday and Wednesday. Jesus overturned the tables in the Temple, was anointed in Bethany, and spoke frequently to his disciples about his imminent death. He also shared a number of parables during this time. Join us for worship each day at noon on Zoom as we explore a few of these parables together. Sign up for Zoom, get instructions if you need them and join us using the links below.

Maundy Thursday commemorates the night that Jesus gathered with his disciples to wash their feet and share a meal with them before his arrest. Maundy comes from the Latin word for command, which refers to the "new command" Jesus gave to his disciples when he washed their feet. For the last few years at Covenant we have observed Maundy Thursday by gathering in homes across the city to share a meal and Communion with one another. Though we are still unable to carry on this tradition as normal due to Covid-19, we invite you to mark this occasion with scripture, prayer, and Communion as you eat your meal tonight. Invite your small group or others to join you via Zoom or, if possible to do so safely, in person.

Stations of the Cross    |    8 a.m. - 8 p.m.

The Stations of the Cross are a series of 14 images depicting small scenes from the time of Jesus' betrayal and arrest to the moment his family laid his body in the tomb. The stations offer an opportunity to spiritually imitate Christ's passion through the use of art, scripture, and prayer. Our sanctuary will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today for those who would like to pray through the stations. Due to Covid-19, we are limiting the number of people in the sanctuary at a given time. Please use the link below to RSVP for a specific time. Masks are required at all times on campus.

Online Worship    |    5 p.m.

Following the glory of Maundy Thursday, Christ’s commandment to his disciples to love one another and the institution of the Eucharist, the mood shifts to Good Friday, the darkest and saddest day in the liturgical calendar. It is called “good” because of what Jesus’ death means for the redemption of the world. Covenant will offer a short service with all three pastors participating. The service will be available at 5 p.m. and anytime after.
