Confirmation
Confirmation is an opportunity for high school students to learn about the Christian faith and the Presbyterian denomination, and to be confirmed or become a member. We will begin a new class in 2018. For more information, contact Billy Streu.
Sunday Morning : D*Groups
Sunday mornings at 9:30, our middle and high school students get together on the 4th floor of the Fellowship and Education Building for games, fellowship, and worship. After that, we split into small groups based on grade and gender in order to dive into the Bible and community together. We’d love you to join us!
For more information, contact Whitney Bell at wbell@covenant.org or (512) 334-3094
Wednesday Nights
During the school year, our large Middle School and High School youth groups meet on Wednesday nights from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in FE 400 for fellowship. Youth group is a great way for students to connect in an unintimidating, welcoming atmosphere. More than anything, this is a place where students learn about God, the Bible and what it means to have an authentic relationship with Christ.
Journey Youth Choir
Journey is a choir for our youth who are in 6th grade through seniors in high school. This is not your average choir experience! Journey participates monthly in worship as well as in a number of special presentations during the year, including a Christmas concert, a spring musical and a choir tour. They also get the opportunity to play handbells throughout the year. Our Journey members advance their musical talents while growing their faith by becoming closer to God and to their fellow choir members. For more information, contact Stacy Curtis at scurtis@covenant.org or (512) 334-3033.
College
Our college program meets regularly during the summer. During the school year, we offer opportunities that enable those students in town, or home for vacations, to continue to grow in their faith.
Small Group
Covenant’s college small group is unique in that we prioritize relationship building. This is not a Bible study. We meet every Sunday from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Starbucks on 24th Street. At all meetings, we discuss our personal life experiences from the past week, good and bad, and help each other through our successes and failures. If you are a college student in or around the city of Austin and want to truly live through life with other students, contact Noah Genovesi (UT Austin ’19) at (423) 596-4968 or at ntgenovesi@utexas.edu.
College Outreach Ministry
Do you have a heart for college students? The transition from high school to college is a big one and most Covenant youth move hundreds and even thousands of miles away from home each year to begin this new life chapter.
Covenant’s College Outreach Ministry aims to support more than 120 Covenant college youth in prayer, community and resources as they make this important transition.
Volunteer Opportunities:
- Prayer group: Intentionally pray for a student(s) on a specified date each month (calendar dates and topics for the prayer will be provided)
- Partner group: Text or mail specific topic information to a student(s) on a specific date each month (content themes and dates will be provided) along with praying for this student. We will match men to men, women to women. (The students who receive these texts may want to build a relationship in terms of asking questions or submitting a specific prayer request).
