A Scripture a Day: Gifts of Grace

Thomas Daniel suggested in his sermon on Sunday that we read scripture daily this week, as we ponder the fruits of the spirit and try to live out our eulogy virtues. Following are suggestions for how to read scripture, followed by the daily verses.

  1. Schedule 15 minutes each day this week to spend time in God’s Word.  Find a quiet space to be present with God. Turn off technology, and before you read, say a prayer for God to open your mind and heart to the power of His love.
  2. Read the passage 2-3 times. Read it both silently and out loud. Take some time to reflect between each reading on what the passage is saying to you. What is God wanting you to absorb about His love?
  3. Close with a prayer asking God to keep His Word alive in you throughout the day so that you may reflect His love to others.
