Mission Presbytery PW Retreat Starts April 6
What could be nicer than a beautiful drive through the wildflowers and spending a relaxing weekend at lovely MoRanch with your sisters in the faith? For more than 20 years, the women of Mission Presbytery have been taking turns hosting this spring retreat, and the women of Covenant have been enjoying their time in this “thin place” where heaven and earth are very close.
This year’s Mission Presbytery PW Retreat starts Friday, April 6, and runs through Sunday, April 8. It is organized around the theme, “Singing in the Rain,” based on Philippians 4:4 — Rejoice in the Lord always. Participants will have many opportunities for spiritual growth including fellowship, worship, singing and workshops which range from Bible study and journaling to belly dancing and umbrella painting. If time with a book or out in nature is what you need, that is an option, too. The women of Gonzales Presbyterian Church are hosting this year’s event.
The PW from Covenant will host next year’s event and the group would love to see a big Covenant turnout this year in order to prepare for next year. Already on the schedule is the keynote speaker, Covenant’s Parish Associate for Older Adults Beth Daniel.
Past participants encourage others to join in. Covenant member Adele Trigg said, “It is a wonderful time of renewing old friendships and making new, in a beautiful setting. Mo-Ranch is truly a ‘thin place’ for me where you feel closer to God. It is a time of spiritual refreshment, away from our hectic lives.”
The 2018 retreat is open to everyone; scholarships are available specifically for young women and others, too. For more information, please contact Suzanne McIntosh, email@example.com.
