Harvey Volunteer and Donation Opportunities

Many of you are asking how you can help neighbors who have been impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Covenant’s mission partner, Austin Disaster Relief Network (ADRN) is beginning to assess the damage of Hurricane Harvey and will be in contact with its partners in the days ahead. You are invited to consider involving yourself in one of the following ways:

Sept. 21: Austin Disaster Relief Network is looking for daily volunteers to help in various areas of the Hurricane Harvey response.

  • Accepting donations at our ADRN HQ location to distribute supplies to communities in need throughout Texas.
  • Need forklift drivers, volunteers and meals to help feed crews during long shift hours.
  • ADRN network badged volunteers are also being asked to fill the need in the areas of Emotional Care and the ADRN Call Center.

Manos Donations are Scarce Due to Harvey

The Manos de Cristo food pantry is nearly bare! Manos is critically short on food and clothing as its usual resources are closed to Manos clients due to Harvey. Key items needed include juice, shelf milk, beans (canned and loose), canned soup, macaroni and cheese, and cereal. Clothing is needed too. Covenant has a collection place in Eaton Hall for Manos donations. Contact Cheryl Banks at cherylbanks5@gmail.com.
