Covenant music is joyous, solemn, respectful and exuberant. Our music fits the mood of the service or the activity for which we are performing. Our choirs provide a wide range of selections and styles, from traditional to folk to gospel to contemporary, depending on the service you are attending.
Our choral ensembles include choirs for adults, youth and children, and our different choral groups offer options for the novice musician through the experienced musician looking for a musical challenge. We also offer a wide array of opportunities for instrumentalists, which include handbell choirs, a taizé ensemble, a brass choir and a wind ensemble. Our Contemporary Band is another, different type of option for musicians at Covenant. There are so many ways to get involved with music. We encourage you to check them out!

GraceNotes is our select auditioned chamber ensemble of experienced singers who delight in singing an adventurous range of sacred music from all styles and historical periods. This excellent group sings monthly in worship and presents two major concerts a year as well as several shorter programs for various groups. We rehearse on Sunday nights from 7:15–9:15 p.m. For more information, contact Tom Brown at firstname.lastname@example.org or (512) 587-7943.
Our Sanctuary Choir, with about 65 singers, performs for the 9:30 and 11 a.m. Traditional Worship Services. Directed by Tom Brown, this choir sings an artistic yet eclectic range of music from 16th century Latin motets to 21st century anthems, African-American spirituals, ethnic songs and gospel arrangements. We also present major concerts with orchestra, and special musical services like World Communion Sunday (ethnic music), our popular Jazz Sunday and Gospel Night. Major works of recent years include Handel’s “Messiah,” Mozart’s “Coronation Mass,” Vaughan Williams’ “Five Mystical Songs,” and “Gospel Mass” by Robert Ray.
Our Sanctuary Choir members develop deep friendships and a rich sense of community through fun and productive rehearsals. We welcome all singers, regardless of music reading ability. No audition is required, and rehearsals are Wednesdays, 7:30–9:30 p.m., in the chapel (FE 100). For more information, contact Tom Brown at email@example.com or (512) 587-7943.

Our Pro Musica Choir rings monthly in morning worship, and participates in Day of Service activities and in several Ara 9 Handbell Musicians of America activities. Pro Musica rehearses on Sundays at 4:30 p.m. in SA 106. For more information, contact Linda Rutherford at firstname.lastname@example.org or (512) 970-7529.
At Covenant, we offer five children’s choirs for ages four (4) years through sixth grade. Our children’s choirs give children a unique way to serve the church and enable them to experience worship through praise, prayer and Biblical stories. These choirs perform in worship and put on an annual show in May. In our choirs, Covenant kids receive a musical education and training for mind, body and spirit.
