Getting connected at Covenant is about relationships that get beneath the surface. We offer the men of our church numerous settings to meet other men in similar situations and stages, as well as men with different backgrounds and experience. From Bible study to fellowship, joining groups that meet at the church or those that meet off-campus, there is no shortage of opportunities for men to get involved at Covenant.

Lively discussions, rousing fellowship and darn good food are trademarks of the Downtown Men’s Fellowship at the Shoal Creek Saloon, located at 909 North Lamar Blvd. Every other week, Covenant members, friends, visitors, downtown workers and others all are welcome to escape their busy days to get together with other Christians to eat lunch and chew on some Bible passages. The group meets on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at noon. The lunch costs $12 and reservations are required. For more information or to reserve your spot, contact Mary Helen Mitchell at firstname.lastname@example.org or (512) 334-3018.
The Guthrie Men’s Bible Study is home to a diverse group of men who meet to study the Bible and for fellowship. We are informal in our structure. We do not use a study guide or have a designated teacher. Each week, the group together decides which two or three chapters of a book of the Bible to assign for reading and study. We ask a member to research commentaries and other reference sources for information that may shed light on the assigned reading. Then the group engages in often lively and always earnest discussions, as we try to determine God’s meaning or message in the chapters. The group is named after our friend and mentor, John Guthrie. We encourage anyone interested to join the group on Mondays at 6:30 p.m. in FE 102. For more information, contact Gene McKenzie at email@example.com or (512) 627-6571.

Rain or shine, the men involved in the Sunday Afternoon Bible Study are committed to this intimate time of Bible study and prayer. In addition to scripture, our small group studies writing by Presbyterian pastors including Greg Ogden and Timothy Keller and several Presbyterian theologians including Dale Bruner. As we study scripture, we delve into the historical context of the passages and their significance in our lives today. Join the group on Sundays at 5 p.m. in FE 102. For more information, contact Jack Kern at email@example.com or (512) 454-9166.
Men in the Word meets Thursdays at 6 a.m. in FE 200. We are a group of early risers who endeavor to learn God’s transforming truths and will for their lives through in-depth study, lectures and prayer. The study topics for Men in the Word parallel those of the women’s Lamplighters’ group, enabling couples to study and share. Fuller Theological Seminary graduate, investment real estate partner amd Covenant member Dustin Johnson leads our group. If you have missed a lecture and would like to catch up, all of the current year’s lectures can be accessed on MitW’s YouTube Channel. For more information, contact Dustin Johnson at firstname.lastname@example.org or (512) 820-8912; Harold Skaggs at email@example.com or (512) 288-3467; or Alan Carmichael at firstname.lastname@example.org or (512) 420-0093.
