Covenant offers a variety of Sunday School classes.
9:30 a.m. Tot Spot (two months – two years)
Tot Spot is loving childcare for babies two months up to two years old. Our staff is trained in CPR and first aid. During this hour, we aim to provide what your child needs — whether that is a nap, engaging play time, a Bible story or something else. Tot Spot is available Sundays at 9:30 a.m.
9:30 a.m.: Preschool Place (two years – pre-K)
Preschool Place is Sunday school for two-year-olds through pre-kindergarteners. Our parents bring their kids to a classroom on the third floor of the Fellowship and Education Building at 9:30 a.m. on Sundays, where the children enjoy an hour of song, prayer, Bible story time and crafts. The curriculum is activity-oriented for our energetic little ones. Covenant kids have tons of fun while they start to love Sunday school!
9:30 a.m.: Zone K-4 (kindergarten – fourth grade)
Zone K-4, for kids in kindergarten through fourth grade, provides 10 different learning labs that immerse kids in the Bible. Our curriculum incorporates food, games, computers, science, art, music and storytelling. Children are divided into groups according to grade and gender and are led by “shepherds” (parent volunteers) to a different lab each week. The hands-on lessons reflect stories being studied throughout the year. We issue “Bible Bucks” to students for memorizing the point of the day and the scripture of the month, or who lead prayer, etc. The bucks are redeemed at our “Inspiration Store” where kids purchase items that reinforce what we are teaching. Our hour concludes with a large gathering where we sing worship and praise songs. It is truly an energizing and motivating hour for kids!
9:30 a.m.: Team 5 (fifth grade)
Team 5, our ministry for fifth graders, meets Sundays at 9:30 a.m. Team 5 starts the hour with fun games that introduce the Bible lesson for the day. Later in the hour, students engage in deeper discussions and prayer time. Team 5 parents and our fabulous Team 5 leader Barbara Burnett lead our activities on Sunday mornings.
Covenant’s Explore Membership class is a great way to learn more about the church and get connected. Explore Membership classes give you the chance to:
- Make new friends and grow relationships with those you already know
- Learn more about who we are and what Presbyterianism is
- Discuss tips for spiritual growth
- Gather suggestions on how you can care for others
Explore Membership is offered throughout the year. Covenant provides childcare (or Sunday school classes) for all meeting times. Dinner is available for Wednesday nights classes from 5 to 6:30 p.m. for $6 or an individual or $20 per family. The actual process of becoming a member will take place on the last class date in each session. Church leaders and pastors will be present to welcome you, our newest members, to the Covenant family.
- Sundays, Feb. 5, 12, 19 and 26. 9:30 – 10:45 a.m.
Every person is in a different place and has different spiritual needs. At Covenant, we recognize this and together, our church family fosters relationships, encourages growth and cares for others. Through the new member class, we hope to help you on the first stage of this journey at Covenant. For more information about the class, contact Amy Skaggs at firstname.lastname@example.org.
At Covenant, serving others by moving out into the community is a key part of our vision. As such, we offer many opportunities to serve at Covenant, in Austin and around the world. Click below to find out more information.
Covenant Groups are small intentional communities in which participants find support, encouragement and spiritual friendship. Each group has a facilitator whose primary role is to create a hospitable space for meaningful relationships to form through dialogue, study and prayer. The groups provide a place where questions and doubts can be raised in an environment of acceptance and trust, where experiences and insights can be shared, and where the work of discerning God’s call is shared. To find out more visit covenant.org/covenantgroups.
Getting connected at Covenant is about relationships that get beneath the surface. Many of our groups and classes offer the opportunity to do that, and studying the Bible together is one way to delve into the true meaning of life with others. Our study groups are comprised on women only, men only and mixed groups. Find a the Bible study that’s right for you here:
Prayer is an important part of the community at Covenant. We want to partner with you in faith and in prayer. If you would like to submit a prayer request, please complete the form below. Each request is confidentially supported in prayer by a team of Covenant members.
